We're super excited to announce that "Farewell to Midnight" has just hit a new milestone with version 1.0.7 now ready for download!

For the first time ever, I started learning how to edit and mix sound for the game. As a beginner, the experience was a bit daunting, but thankfully, I found some great tutorials on YouTube. I use Audacity for adjusting volume levels, adding fade-ins and outs, as well as cutting and pasting tracks. It's been quite the challenge, but honestly, I'm loving every bit of it. I know I still have a lot to learn but I hope you can give me your feedback—especially on sound transitions and mixing.

The story deepens with Kaylee Dankese voicing one of our main characters. Please do check it out! Working with her was smooth-sailing and we didn't have to make many changes to the lines. She perfectly captured the emotions I had in mind while writing the story.

There are only 8 days left before the Winter Visual Novel Jam 2023 ends but I'm determined to finish the game. On the tech side, I've decided to release the game files in .tar.xz format since it's supported by Windows 11 now—and for those not using Windows 11, tools like 7-Zip will do the trick just fine. This change made compressed files smaller which means easier downloads and uploads for everyone—win-win!

Lastly, I want you to meet Dahlia; she's one of the protagonists from my other project - Messinia Graciene: Project DAHLIA. I built a Discord bot modeled after her—she runs on ChatGPT and roleplays as her character while also offering gaming options. Now she's joining "Farewell to Midnight" as the female conductor! This entire journey in game development has been nothing short of amazing. It's just me here behind the keyboard, so every piece of feedback or word of encouragement from you means more than you can imagine.

If you downloaded and played the previous version, please reset the sound settings before starting another game. I added Voice Volume so you can adjust the voices of the characters separately from other sounds for a better personalized experience.
